Finding your leaf

The process of finding your nadi leaves

To read the future from the Nadi leaves:

  1. Your thumb impression is necessary. Right thumb impression for men and left thumb impression for women.

  2. Your thumb impression is matched with the bunch of leaves containing that category of thumb impressions. (There are 108 categories of thumb impression and yours will fall into one of the categories. Some of the names are ‘Dhana malarum thamarai regai’, 'Our suzhi vatta regai’, ‘Vari malar sangu regai’,’Vari suttru keetru regai’, ‘Dhana malar sangu regai’ etc.)

  3. The Nadi reader will read out from the leaves of each bunch that falls into the category of your thumb impression. The lives of people belonging to each category of thumb impression resemble. And out of those we will need to find the leaf that belongs to you. And any particular leaf will have the major happenings and the important milestones of a person’s life from birth to the present. And from the present there will be a detailed age-wise prediction. Therefore the only method we could use to reach your leaf will be to read out from the past from each leaf and confirm if it is true with your life. So this becomes a combined effort of the Nadi reader and you. And if you do not understand his language the interpreter joins in. As the Nadi reader reads out from each leaf, you will need to affirm or deny it. If you affirm the Nadi reader will read further from the same leaf. If not the he will discard that leaf and read from the following leaf. This process will continue until you arrive at a leaf that has every word written about your past confirmed by you. This will also include your name, your father’s name, your mother’s name and your spouse’s name along with your birth details.

  4. Once you have confirmed your leaf, the Nadi Reader writes down every information given in that leaf, your past, present and future in a notebook as a record, since it is not an easy task to go through the process to get your leaf again in case you need to read some other chapter.

  5. Then the reading is done in ancient Tamil by the Nadi reader and conveyed in the Tamil used today, which in turn will be translated to English by the interpreter simultaneously during the session.
